As the 2nd weekend of Weapons destroyed the opening weekend of Nobody 2 (which is not off to a great start), James Gunn's Superman was officially released on VOD after initial rumors weeks ago reported on it (and were dismissed by many). Ultimately this release helps to confirm that the studio did not likely think the movie would make back the estimated -$50 million in current losses for the film (on the conservative side) during its theatrical run alone. With several new movies this weekend including Bob Odenkirk's Nobody 2, Sydney Sweeney's Americana, and even a Eli Roth produced film aptly named Eli Roth Presents: Jimmy and Stiggs, it is the holdover from last week Weapons that is expected to easily take the #1 spot at the domestic box office...all of this while #superman seems to be heading to VOD very early for what has been desciived as "highly successful"
